Kristers Krūms is a Latvian interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores the intersection of conceptual inquiry and material contingency. His work investigates the traces of memory embedded in found objects and the relationship between their physical presence and the narratives they might hold — both documented and imagined. Guided by intuitive responses to the environment and a sensitivity to chance, Kristers allows materials to determine their own relationships, flowing fluidly across installation, sound, performance, and sculpture. Through these shifting forms, he constructs new meanings from the layered encounters between objects, spaces, and histories.
Currently part of the artist collective Megasistēma which seeks and radiates heavenliness, sincerity and light among musical machines, devices and systems.
